Advocating the power of competition

Does Congressional Action = Consumer Benefits?

A recent federal study confirmed the critical role Congress will play in maximizing the benefits of competition for consumers. The study, published by the Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration (EIA), predicted prices will fall between six and twenty-four percent below current levels within two years of customers receiving choice. EIA went further to state that the extent of consumer savings will depend on a number of factors, including how "intense" competition is. EPSA believes Congress is in the best position to create a national market where all companies play by the same rules. Such leadership will produce the kind of intense competition needed to generate maximum savings for consumers. U.S. consumers deserve nothing less.
